Updated: Jun 3, 2022

The Queenes Chappell are delighted to announce the details of their upcoming 2022/23 concert season. We are undertaking our concerts in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary le Strand Church, where we are Artist-in-Residence for 2022/23. Full details of our schedule can be found on our calendar.

The Nightingale's Own Brother

Saturday 8th October 2022, 19:30

Venice: Love and Loss

Saturday 14th January 2023, 19:30

Lamentations.

Saturday 18th March 2023, 19:30

Monteverdi: Vespers of 1610

Saturday 24th June 2023, 19:30

Our concerts will explore a range of music from the 16th and 17th centuries, with some household names such as Claudio Monteverdi and William Byrd represented, alongside lesser known gems such as Emilio de' Cavalieri and Tarquinio Merula. Much of the music centres around Italy, the musical home of The Queenes Chappell and indeed of much of 17th century music at large. Italy's influence was vast, with Venetian and Roman compositional styles particularly finding their way to all corners of Europe. We are excited to share this wonderful music with our audience, and feel particularly privileged to be able to do so in the excellent surroundings of St Mary le Strand.
